Blood tests in the Netherlands
Stichting Med Partners can arrange laboratory tests in the Netherlands as part of a medical consultation. Tests are selected individually according to symptoms, long-term conditions, medication and previous results.
When may blood tests be useful?
Laboratory tests may form part of an assessment for persistent fatigue, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, an abnormal heart rate, metabolic problems, raised cholesterol or glucose, suspected deficiencies or a preventive health assessment.
Which tests may be requested?
- Full blood count.
- Glucose and HbA1c.
- Lipid profile, including cholesterol and triglycerides.
- Liver and kidney function tests.
- TSH and selected thyroid tests.
- Ferritin, iron and selected tests for possible deficiencies.
- Other tests according to clinical indications.
The doctor determines the final selection. Not everyone needs the same test package.
What happens?
- A consultation assesses symptoms, records and previous results.
- The doctor requests appropriate tests if indicated.
- Blood is collected at a partner location, depending on the test and where you live.
- Results can be discussed alongside symptoms and existing treatment.
Where can blood be collected?
According to the published information, Stichting Med Partners works with diagnostic organisations including Reinier de Graaf, Star-shl and Diagnostiek voor U. The available location and collection arrangements depend on the request and your location.
Thyroid problems and high blood pressure
Laboratory testing can complement consultations about the thyroid, metabolism or cardiovascular risk. Where indicated, Dr Krzysztof Chyrek can assess symptoms and results together and discuss further investigation.

Preparation and discussing results
When arranging tests, ask about preparation, booking, location and when results will be available. Instructions vary by test and laboratory; confirm them before collection. Bring previous results and medication information. Contact the appointments team to arrange a consultation with Dr Chyrek to discuss results.
Women's health tests
For questions about periods, hormones or gynaecological investigation, see laboratory tests for women and Dr Barbara Blicharczyk. See the pregnancy page for tests and care during pregnancy.
Check fees and payment and reimbursement. Confirm the tests and cost before they are performed.
Important
Laboratory results must be interpreted alongside symptoms, medical history and other clinical information. A single result cannot always diagnose or exclude a condition. Stichting Med Partners does not provide emergency care or replace ongoing huisarts care. For sudden deterioration, contact your huisarts or huisartsenpost; call 112 for a life-threatening emergency.
