Payment and reimbursement

Stichting Med Partners is a non-contracted healthcare provider (niet-gecontracteerde zorgaanbieder) and has no contracts with Dutch health insurers. You pay the clinic directly.

Depending on your policy, the care provided and your insurer's rules, partial or other reimbursement may be possible. Always check the current conditions directly with your insurer before your visit.

Key points

  • We do not guarantee reimbursement or a particular percentage or amount.
  • Your insurer decides whether reimbursement is available and its final amount under your policy.
  • An invoice or referral does not guarantee reimbursement.

How can you check whether reimbursement is possible?

Before your visit, ask your insurer about the planned care from a non-contracted provider. Give the name Stichting Med Partners, the type of care and the fact that we have no contract with the insurer. The insurer may request further details, such as information about the doctor. Follow its instructions.

Ask whether the care may qualify, how reimbursement is calculated and which documents and formalities are required. Also check whether the statutory deductible (eigen risico) applies in your circumstances.

Payment, invoices and submitting your own claim

  1. Check the current fee list beforehand. Ask the appointments team about the cost of a particular service.
  2. Attend and pay Stichting Med Partners directly. You will receive an invoice; keep it and check your details.
  3. If your insurer permits claims, submit the invoice and required documents according to its instructions. Some insurers require additional formalities or prior authorisation; check before your visit.

We do not have access to your individual policy conditions and do not submit reimbursement claims on your behalf.

You may also choose private care without claiming reimbursement. If your insurer declines a claim or covers only part of the cost, you pay the remaining amount yourself. Payment for your visit does not depend on the insurer's later decision.

Referrals and reimbursement

Reimbursement for specialist care may require a valid referral. Before your visit, ask your insurer whether one is required for the selected service and what conditions it must meet. A referral from your huisarts does not, by itself, guarantee reimbursement; check all other requirements too.

Information from insurers

Consult the official information from Zilveren Kruis, VGZ, CZ, Menzis, DSW or Zorg en Zekerheid about non-contracted care and your own policy. This does not mean that care at Stichting Med Partners will automatically be reimbursed. Policy conditions and amounts may change; confirm current, binding information with your insurer before your visit.

Frequently asked questions

Does Stichting Med Partners have insurer contracts?

No. We provide care as a non-contracted healthcare provider.

Can I obtain reimbursement despite the lack of a contract?

It may be possible depending on your policy, the service and the insurer. The absence of a contract does not itself determine whether a claim will be accepted or refused. Check your circumstances before attending.

Does a referral guarantee reimbursement?

No. A referral and a reimbursement decision are separate matters. A valid referral may be required but is not a guarantee.

Who decides whether costs are reimbursed?

Your insurer assesses the claim under your policy and the type of care. Stichting Med Partners does not guarantee the outcome.

Can you tell me the percentage that will be reimbursed?

We do not quote a universal percentage or amount and cannot access your individual policy. Your insurer must confirm this for the specific service.

Does Stichting Med Partners submit my claim?

No. You pay us directly and ask your insurer which claim procedure, documents and advance formalities apply to you.

What will I receive after the appointment?

After payment, you receive an invoice for the care provided, also called a zorgnota. Check your details and keep it. Follow your insurer's submission procedure. Sending an invoice does not automatically result in reimbursement. Check referral, authorisation and documentation requirements beforehand.

What if my insurer previously refused a claim?

An earlier decision concerned a particular policy, service and rules at that time. Check your current circumstances before another visit. This does not mean the earlier decision was incorrect or that a new claim will be accepted.

Important

This is general information. Your own policy and your insurer's information determine your entitlement. Stichting Med Partners does not guarantee reimbursement or a particular amount.
